Questions people ask
Does this image resizer upload my photo?
No. Resizing and cropping happen in your browser with the canvas API. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no limit.
Crop or fit: which should I choose?
"Crop to fill" fills the whole frame and trims the edges, which is best for photos. "Fit inside" keeps the entire image and adds a background bar, which is best for logos and graphics where nothing may be cut off.
What format should I save in?
JPG for photos (smallest files), PNG for graphics with sharp text or transparency, WebP for websites (smaller than both, supported by all modern browsers).
Why do platforms recompress my image?
Most social networks re-encode uploads to save bandwidth. Uploading at exactly their recommended size keeps them from resizing it again, which is where most blur comes from.
